A short road trip

Happy hump day all!  Last week our whole fam-dam took a road trip the the grand old state of Texas.  Mr. Mac's grandmother had a very special birthday and we all surprised her for it!  I was worth the 11 hour drive there and back.  It will be a trip we remember forever!

On the way down there I rode with my brother/sister-in-law, and my favorite nieces and nephew!  So being the crazy aunt that I am, I tried to capture all the amazing moments on film instagram :)
Nonna so graciously got these books on "tape" for the kids to listen to, and they loved them! Especially E!

Technology these days...G documented our trip on his iPod note app.  SO CUTE!  (can we take a minute to look at how cute he is?  Such a trendy fella with his flat billed hat)

Coloring on your very own cookie sheet turned dry erase board is hard work I tell ya.  I have to say S did the best out off all the kids traveling for so long.  Such a sweetie :)

After 6 long hours in the car we arrived to the wonderful Las Vegas...............New Mexico (a place of false advertising).  We got settled into our "spacious" room....3 adults....3 kids....2 queen beds....can you say ballers???!!!???  As we get into bed we take note of the plush pillows...
Y'all I am not kidding you this pillow is the size of a throw pillow that you would put on your couch!!  It was terrible!  A hotel trip I unfortunately will never forget :(  #traveling #fail

If you see my tweets over there ---->  you will see all these tweets about conferences....let me explain...every time my brother-in-law had a conference I tweeted it!  Told you I was an awesome aunt!!  This I believe was conference 5.  "Behavior at Cattleman's"
Typical E: looking very remorseful
Typical S: out in la-la land totally not paying attention

The best conference that was held was #3...you will be thankful there is not picture.  It consisted of bro-in-law flying out of his little cot in the hotel room to yell at the kids...in his undies...haha.

For the special occasion (nana's b-day) we went to a restaurant called Cattleman's where movies are filmed and it has a petting zoo.  It was a blast (complete with a singing telegram...dressed in a banana costume!  It was just as awesome as it sounds...oh and he had a fake British accent...even better!) and the food was delish!
Butter and sour cream anyone?  See everything really is BIGGER in Texas :)

Peacocks or as G called them "peahawks"

Balancing goats...

Hairy-eyed llamas....

Extra LONG-longhorns....wowza!!!

Go buffs!!

Mac family's future blogger :)  She took her job VERY serious...more serious than me!

Although this is in the middle of the desert, it was beautiful.

With a full tummy and 100 degree heat this sweet doll was down for the count!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA WE LOVE YOU!!!!
bad pic but here she is with all her grandsons...they recreated a picture they took when they were just little kids!  Such a memorable trip!  Until next time.....

Place your bets!

Hey all!  I am back from a very short but fun trip to Texas...more on that tomorrow.   I don't know if y'all watch the Bachelorette but in our house it is a must!!!  It is weird we do not watch it when it is the Bachelor, but you bet your bottom dollar that when it is a Bachelorette we are watchin!

This season the bachelorette is Emily Maynard... apparently she "won" the season with Brad but I don't know anything about that because as I said we are prejudice and only watch it when it is a girl!

Verdict on Emily:  I like her!  She is a super cute southern belle who seems legit to me.  No issues with her.

As always there have been some MAJOR creepers on the show!  I have NO idea how they got there but that is besides the point.  The thing I like the most about her is that she seems to be totally honest and upfront with the guys.  (WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE MOST RECENT SHOW STOP READING!!)  Last night she sent home 2 guys in the middle of their dates!

Exhibit A: Doug
His body language last night said everything BUT I am falling in love with you.  He hadn't kissed her and she was waiting for it to happen.  Well it happened all right...right as she was sending his butt home! HA!  It was one of the most awesomely awkward TV moments ever...and I loved it!  But I have to hand it to her...the second she realized he was just not it she didn't waste his time and send him home.  I am happy about that one!

Exhibit B: John
She gave him a legit shot...buuut it didn't work out.  I mean this guy was like watching paint dry!  He was so boring to watch!  Like throw her a freaking bone!  She tried but cut the rope...rightfully so!

P.S.  Can we just talk about the look on Emily's face in the above pics....it's like she is thinking "is this for real y'all??"  almost painful!

The final four are....
Chris...my least favorite.  Homeboy needs to grow up and stop pouting and crying about everything!

Ari...my third choice.  I have a couple of issues with him.  My biggest one is his lips...they need chap-stick like no body business!  And he has acne....we have all had our bouts with acne but as an adult go to the derm and get some accutane k?  When he is with Emily I just don't feel like they make a couple. And why on earth are his hands always on her face when they are kissing?????  Drive's me nuts!

Jef...my runner up!  He is Mr. Mac's number one pick.  I like him, and he is so funny and they are really cute together.  Last night they were in a puppet shop and he was hilarious with this Michael Jackson puppet.  And his hair is very suitable for him (Mr. Mac seems to think he is going to grow a pompadour now...he is dreaming...sorry honey love you!)

Sean...HE IS MY WINNER! And by winner I mean she falls in love with him and they live happily ever after!  This guy is from Texas and he just seem like the nicest guy!  He is super cute and they look like a real couple.  Their interaction in normal and fun and loving!  I they are not the couple by the end I think my heart might be a little broken too :(

Because Mr. Mac is just the best hubby in the world..he watches the show with me...and he commentates it!    Comments on clothing options ie: when Ryan wore the turquoise shoes...I heard about them!  He, also comments on Arie's lip situation "He needs to put some Vaseline on at night and let that all soak in"  And my all time favorite quote from this season "Why are there no fat people on this show?  Fat people fall in love too!"  Haha!  Love him and the fact that he watches all my silly girly shows with me!

I have officially placed by bets for this season of the Bachelorette...what are yours???

Father's Day Recap

Father's day was so much fun this year...we celebrated it with Mr. Mac's dad the weekend before as he was out of town this weekend.  But we went to dinner with my dad on Saturday night.  His favorite restaurant is this AMAZING steak house called Del Frisco's so we met up there and had a wonderful dinner followed by a casual cigar...we are high rollers like that :)

Of course this sweet boy was dressed to the nines to celebrate!  I will say one thing that is so special about our ahem...age gap...is to see my dad parent him.  I have a lot of respect for my dad and the kind of parent he is!  It definitely puts a different spin on Father's day.  And this sweet boy is going to be a ladies man...he was hitting on all the cute hostess girls and they were eating him up! He would look at a girl and say "she's pretty"....cracks me up!

This restaurant has a cigar room that is so fun!  You walk in this humidor room and pick your cigar out.  Some of the legit high rollers have their own box in the room.  Most of them are just single level doors except for 2....the one on top is the owner of the Denver Broncos...and the one below is MAC's...
No this is not my Mr. Mac...but we can just pretend :)

So handsome!!

And just because Lexi is like the cutest dog in all of land here is a picture of her new sleeping spot...I guess I will have to find another pillow ;)
This is the only dog I have ever known who will purposefully seek out comfy surface...I am talking blanket, pillow, slippers...it doesn't matter.  If it is soft she is on it!  Love this pup :)

2YEARS!!

Today is our second wedding anniversary!!!!  WOOT WOOT!!!  It feels like just yesterday that I woke up at 4 a.m. in a beautiful hotel surrounded by 5 sleeping bridesmaids, and thinking to myself today is the day I will be Mrs. Mac! I will remember that day so eager, so exciting, so blessed, so fun.  It was the best day of my life!  And the last two years have been everything I have ever hoped for and more!

Mr. Mac...thank you for being my best friend and the best husband.  Thank you for making me laugh at myself when needed.  Thank you for being my rock when I need it, and for knowing what to say at the right time.  God has blessed me in so many ways, but you are by far the best blessing!  I love you to the moon and back; and I can't wait for what the next year has in store for us!  Love you boo!

Oh and these two cuties graduated from Kindergarten today!!  So proud of them...love you girlies :)

Last night...

...I had not 1 but 2 packages waiting for me on my doorstep!  I LOVE getting packages...even if I already know what is in them :)

...I got a new pair of sandals for work.  If you care to know anything silly about me it is that I absolutely HATE wearing shoes.  They are the first things I take off when I get home.  I will wear sandals/flip flops year around weather permitting (I have worn flip flops in the rain and snow...don't judge and yes it drove my mother crazy).

...Mr. Mac had to work late last night which means I get total control of remote...YES!  So this is what my TV watching consisted of....

Followed by the two episodes of DALLAS...AMAZEBALLS!!!  I was not older enough to watch this show in it's first run, but you can bet your DVR that I will be watching it this time!  My mother and father in law are both from Texas and they said they used to plan their Friday nights around the show!!  Crazy Texans :)  I am so thankful for the DVR....I will have to remember that next Thursday when we do Thankful Thurdsay :)

...I woke up at 2:00a.m. to a terrible thunder and hail storm, while Mr.Mac was un-phased...until I was like "BABE!!  DO YOU HEAR THAT?"  Then I laid in bed just imagining my flowers getting damaged...sad day!

...I decided that this Sunday will be spent soaking up the sun and relaxing with Mr.Mac.  We will celebrate father's day Saturday night so that leaves us free for each other on Sunday.  I can't wait.

Everyone have a great weekend!  Happy Father's Day to all you dads!  Peace out cub scouts!  (man do I love exclamation points or what???)
