Where'd ya go??

Well I have officially gotten my first "bug" of the season.  I have been so sick for the last week, that I may have forgotten about this little thing called a blog.  So my life has consisted of multiple boxes of kleenex...wearing sweatpants and being curled up under a big ol' blanket...cute huh?

Mr. Mac went hunting this last weekend so he was lucky enough to miss me in all my hotness ;)  And low and behold I got this text message on Sunday morning..."I found my buck"...

Yay Mr. Mac!!!  This is his first time getting a buck and he is just happy as a clam let me tell you!  He is going to get the antlers mounted and we will put them somewhere at the cabin.  So I can no longer give him a hard time and call him a hiker with a gun...he is a real hunter now...and I am a hunter's wife :)

While Mr. Mac was being all manly and stuff I was at home feeling like poo.  And what do you do when you are sick...watch T.V. all day!!  The DVR was getting a little full so I watched Revenge from the beginning.  I had recorded it but never watched any of them, and oh.my.lanta this show is AMAZING!!!

I would NOT want to get on this girls bad side...holy moley!!!  It is on Wednesday nights,  and I will not miss it now!  We watched it last night and even Mr. Mac was into it!

On Sunday night "Once Upon a Time" premiered and it was soo good too!  It is a great family show and I really liked the plot I just love Ginnifer Goodwin!  I liked her when she was on "Big Love".

My nephew liked this show too.  He is so cute right now.  I posted about his birthday in July here when he turned 8, and he has just grown up so much in the last few months.  He is becoming this sweet young man who has opinions and loves likes chiming in on the adult conversations.  Yesterday he says "Oh man have you seen the Once Upon a Time show?  It is soo good.  It is about people who are real life fairy tales! Like Snow White...it is awesome."  He just cracks me up!

I also went a saw the new "Footloose" movie this weekend, and it was pretty good.  I loved the old one so I was a little skeptical.  But it was cute!  And the dancing was fantastic.  I wish I could dance like that, but I am pretty limited to the electric slide, cupid shuffle, thriller, and the wobble.  Meh!

On that note I will boot scoot my way out of here...get it? Like the boot scoot and boogie...I know I am a dork!  But I promise to return to my normal blogging activity.  Have a great day ya'll!!!

Randomness

It's Friday ya'll!!!  Whoever thought of T.G.I.F is one of the smartest people, and that could not even begin to express my love for Friday's!

This week has been cray cray!!!  Mr. Mac's grandmother is in town from Florida so we have been uber busy just doing random stuff.  This will probably be Omi's last trip out here so we are soakin' her up while she is here.

I am working on a post that I think will be so much fun!  I am a music lover from all walks of life and decided to do a post on what I listen to almost daily...so come back next week for that post.  I might try to start a "Friday Favorite(s)" post every Friday...so wish me luck on that commitment :)

Mr. Mac and I are having dinner with some friends tonight, and I am real excited for that!  She and I have been friends since like 1st grade and we just love her kinda new boyfriend.  Mr. Mac and him get along great...it's weird they will finish each others sentences when talking about sports...whatever!  Silly boys and their sports :)

Tomorrow my mom, Omi, my grandma, and I are going to a huge Christmas Craft Fair!!! And I can't wait...I mean Christmas is only the.best.time.of.the.year.  BAR NONE!!

I really want to be in a house but Christmas.  I told Mr. Mac this week that if we do move before Christmas I am putting up all my Christmas stuff ...even if it is before Thanksgiving...just a little crazy :)

So no we don't have the house...yet!  Our realtor is the bomb.com and she is working so hard and keeps getting us updates and the status and all that jazz.  The ball is still rolling here people and that is all we need.

Speaking of our realtor, she was one of my bridesmaids, and now she is preggers!!!!  I couldn't be happier for her and her hubby.  They are such great people and I just know they will be great friends of ours for a long time.  I am crossing my fingers and toes that I get to throw her a baby shower.  My pinterest page is full of baby shower ideas!

My birthday is 3 weeks from today, and I will offically be closer to 30 than I was 20.

And I am a-ok with that :)

It really bugs me when people are so cool that they wear their sunglassed inside.  And NEVER take them off.  WHO DOES THAT?!?!?

I love twitter...it really just makes my heart happy!  And two of my co-workers got it this week!  So now I can tell Mr. Mac that I actually follow some of my real friends and not just celebs.

Following celebs on twitter is funny...I start to feel like I know them...which I don't...at all...but still I think we are like peas and carrots...but we're not.

If you sat in my brain for a day you would realize that this is pretty much what is goin on upstairs all day...random thoughts.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!!!

Chicken Pot Pie

This past weekend I was like a mini Paula Deen!  I cooked all weekend and loved it!  I enjoy trying new recipies and I love love love baking...if I had one of those gangster kitchens that looked like this...

Clive Christian Regency Kitchen in Antique Honey Oak

I WOULD LIVE IN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (file this under dream kitchen ok honey..thanks!)

Ok back to real life cooking...not that I have ADD or anything ;)

So at the cabin we were and it was snowing and it looked like this outside...

I decided I was going to make homemade chicken pot pie!  I know so ambitious right?!?  This is one of the easiest things to make for dinner and Mr. Mac was one happy guy let me tell you!

First I cut up 2 chicken breasts into bite size pieces and cooked them with about 1/2 of a diced onion.  Once the chicken was cooked I added all the  cut up veggies carrots, peas, green beans, and corn.  Or you could buy two bags of frozed mixed veggies which I would never do cuz then it isn't really that homemade.
And cook all that yummy stuff together...now the essential spice to cook is garlic salt people so if you ever eat something I make chances are it have garlic salt in it!  So add garlic salt, pepper, and whatever else floats your boat!

While that is simmer'n all up you make the saucy goodness.  1 can of chicken broth, 1/3 cup butter, and 2/3 cup milk.  Mix that and slowly add 1/3 cup flour.  Season with pepper (I didn't add a lot of salt because I bought normal broth which is pretty salty anyways)

Now since this is homemade pot pie you would now take the crust you slaved over buying it at the store and roll it out, and place it in a round pyrex dish.  I melted a litte butter and put salt and pepper in it just to give it some umph!

Now put the chicken and veggie mix in, and cover it with the sauce...

Now you take the 2nd piece of crust you slaved over ;) and put it on the top pinching it together with the other crust...and if you feel so inclined to top it with the remaining melted butter and make slits in the crust!

YUMMMM-OOO!!!

Bake at 425 degrees for 30-35 minutes....and voila dinner is served!!

Hey it may not be to purdiest thing but it works!  This is real life cooking remember?

A Man's Best Friend

Happy Monday Ya'll!!

This weekend Mr. Mac, Lexi, and I went to the cabin for 3 wonderful days...just the three of us!  Mr. Mac will be going hunting in a couple of weeks so I baked my patutti off this weekend (more to come on that later this week)!  On our way to the cabin we stopped and this super store of man-ness...

Bass Pro Shop is like Nordstrom's on steroids and for men srsly.  Mr. Mac and any other man in our family think this place is a little of heaven on earth.  They could all spend HOURS in this store.  But what is cool is that you can take your dog in there (on a leash of course)!

Man and man's best friend (I am talking about Lexi...not Bass Pro *wink wink*)

Now Lexi thought she hit the mini doggie jack pot.  She helped her daddy pick out a new holster for his gun.

And she was very concerned when he went down another aisle.  But quickly found a seat at the end of the aisle where every person that walked by her gave her some nice puppy love.  She ate it with a spoon.

This is what I think about the Bass Pro........

Just kidding :)

And then Mr. Mac said I could get some new wool socks! Of my very own!  He is such a nice guy :)

Yay awkward self-photos!!

One new gun holster: check
Two/2/t-w-o new pairs of wool socks: check
One man...two best friends: double check

Have a great day, and I will post this week my awesome wifey-ness cooking!

Friday Night Lights

This Friday Night my nieces got to cheer at the high school football game! I got to do their hair and help them get ready!  Since I am the only one who knows how to french braid, and my SIL was at the field already with her cheerleaders.  Our families are always joking that God is not going to give me girls because I LOVE doing their hair and getting them dressed up and all that girlie stuff!

First up is Ella!  How stinkin cute is she?!?

And here is her hair.  I had to do hers first because she doesn't want to have the same hair as Sophia anymore so I have to do hers first so she knows it is different.  Silly girl!

Here is Sophia! All ready to cheer her little heart out!

Her hair is way shorter than Ella's so the two braids looks sooo adorable on Sophia!

And then I made them take a whole bunch of pictures they didn't want to.  But you would never guess cuz look at how these girls pose! I mean really!

Making their mama proud!

With their hair dresser :)

With Nonna

and Papa!

It was a group effort to get them ready...even Uncle helped! (Doesn't Lexi look impressed?)

GO RAPTORS!!

    Really Aunt Bri?!? Enough!

They are out there somewhere in that group!  I was NOT about to venture on down with all those crazy parents!

Proud Dad!

Me and Mr. Mac...I love this pic even though it is all iPhone-y and stuff :)

A Trip to Sam's

Ya it's the weekend...boo I am at work :(  But being very productive!  I will have done two posts one for now and one for tomorrow!  Look at that skill yo!

I had to take a trip to Sam's Club for work the other day, and based upon my SIL's tweets she was not having the best day.  So what does the best SIL/Aunt do??  Well she calls and offers to take the twinsies to Sam's Club with her!

When I first picked them up Ella did NOT want to go...she kept saying she had already been there today (which she hadn't), but she was determined to get out of it!  She ended up thanking me for taking her to the place where they have all those 'examples' aka samples.  She insisted they were called EXamples OK!

Ella trying out the couch and watching a movie.  She ran straight to this when we walked in and says "Oh ya I do love this place!"

Sophia my little helper.  Holding that list so diligently!

Any time I put something in the basket they would say "Ok now where is this on the list?"

All in all it was a successful trip and I am so glad I had the company!

Hope y'all are having a great weekend!
