I WOULD LIVE IN HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (file this under dream kitchen ok honey..thanks!)
Ok back to real life cooking...not that I have ADD or anything ;)
So at the cabin we were and it was snowing and it looked like this outside...
I decided I was going to make homemade chicken pot pie! I know so ambitious right?!? This is one of the easiest things to make for dinner and Mr. Mac was one happy guy let me tell you!
First I cut up 2 chicken breasts into bite size pieces and cooked them with about 1/2 of a diced onion. Once the chicken was cooked I added all the cut up veggies carrots, peas, green beans, and corn. Or you could buy two bags of frozed mixed veggies which I would never do cuz then it isn't really that homemade.
And cook all that yummy stuff together...now the essential spice to cook is garlic salt people so if you ever eat something I make chances are it have garlic salt in it! So add garlic salt, pepper, and whatever else floats your boat!
While that is simmer'n all up you make the saucy goodness. 1 can of chicken broth, 1/3 cup butter, and 2/3 cup milk. Mix that and slowly add 1/3 cup flour. Season with pepper (I didn't add a lot of salt because I bought normal broth which is pretty salty anyways)
Now since this is homemade pot pie you would now take the crust you slaved over buying it at the store and roll it out, and place it in a round pyrex dish. I melted a litte butter and put salt and pepper in it just to give it some umph!
Now put the chicken and veggie mix in, and cover it with the sauce...
Now you take the 2nd piece of crust you slaved over ;) and put it on the top pinching it together with the other crust...and if you feel so inclined to top it with the remaining melted butter and make slits in the crust!
YUMMMM-OOO!!!
Bake at 425 degrees for 30-35 minutes....and voila dinner is served!!
Hey it may not be to purdiest thing but it works! This is real life cooking remember?
