The Winter Days are Over...right??

Can I get high five?!? I am on post number 2 and it hasn't even been a whole week!  I am proud of myself..if you can't tell :)

We traveled to the cabin. We traveled back home.  We however did NOT do it in a timely fashion.
The cabin is about a two and half hour drive from where we live without traffic and without any kind of weather.  So Mr.Mac, his brother, and I left Friday morning...and we hit traffic! On a Friday morning, clearly after the rush hour but whatever! We arrive, and there is soooo much snow (I kinda forgot to take a picture of the front of the cabin) and I mean soooo much snow, as in we slid off the roof onto a huge pile of snow...ya we are those people :)

I LOVE having a family cabin, it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Where your cell phone is inop, and although we have cable there is no internet, no facebook, no twitter...nothing.  And it is here where I feel the most relaxed, where nothing matters, and you are engulfed in this breathtaking place that we call "home".  No matter summer or winter the cabin never fails to provide us with fun times and a lifetime of memories.

Winter time cabin activities include...

Painting nails (pay no attention to my way too short haircut)

Mickey Mouse pancakes...yummy!

...and the main winter attraction...
PLAYING IN THE SNOW!!

I would like to introduce you to the "Double Two" as one of the girls called it.  It is supposed to be a boating tube...but we made it the best sledding tube EVER!!!!

Enter the snowmobile...and that is Mr.Mac driving it...I think this is one sexy man on a machine :)

 Combine the two and voila!!

At this point I was no longer a spectator and was outside for playing for next four hours :)

WARNING!!!! All fun ends here!!!!

This was only the beginning of our drive home...it took 9 HOURS! Five of which were spent with the nine of us commandeering a Wendy's.  It was terrible, they shut down the only highway home and we were stuck, thinking they would never reopen and resorting to playing cards, reading trashy gossip magazines and praying for the electronic sign to say "OPEN". I felt like that old Mervyn's commercial where the lady is standing in front of the doors before they open chanting "OPEN OPEN OPEN" It finally opened and we made it home safe and sound...with enough time to have to go to work today :(

The Winter Days are Over...Right??
