Crafty...

Over the weekend I successfully completed another Pinterest project!!!  Yay for me....if we are keeping count this is probably my 6th or 7th Pinterest success and I have only had one fail!

BURLAP WREATH
My pinsperation....via.  This is a super duper easy wreath to make and it was cheap (about $20).  All you need is burlap, a straw wreath, and hot glue...

So 3 trips to Joann Fabrics and one trip to Hobby Lobby I completed the wreath :)

My final project!  I filled mine ALOT more that the above one, but once I started putting the burlap in...I just couldn't stop!  I might have a slight addiction to all things burlap :)  It looks amazeballs on my front door!

I am already thinking about making another one for year round that looks more loose like the example...we will see.  There are no limits in the burlap/pinterest world!

Ok on to a much more exciting topic...how to communicate in your marriage.  Mr. Mac and I have a pretty intense form of communication in our marriage...our phones ;)

Exhibit A:  while in church on Sunday, all I could think about was breakfast...I was seriously sooo hungry I thought my stomach was going to make noises.  And it was imparative that I let Mr. Mac know that...

Thank you notes app :)  Just like that my huger problem was solved!  Tatas is this nast hole in the wall breakfast burrito place that is to.die.for!

Exhibit B:  I am the worst at making Christmas lists...there are a ton of things that I want, but when the time comes to ask for them...I forget every single thing I have eyed throughout the year. #firstworldproblems
So Mr. Mac was all in my grill the other night and was making a list for me (he is so nice!)  We were in the same room when this "conversation" happened but it all took place over texts!  But guess what...problem was solved......

A great example of do you like these or theessee better??

Fav #1

Fav #2

I am entering a gold phase of my life, rose gold, gold gold, I don't care...I am attracted to it all!

So that my deer peeps is how you communicate with your spouse....k?  It works I promise :)

Thankful....

Let the holidays begin!  The next month is my absolute favorite time of year....I love love love everything about the Thanksgiving through Christmas period of time!  I may or may not have our house totally decorated for Christmas :)   But for now lets focus on Thanksgiving and give it the much deserved attention (it's kinda like Thanksgiving is the forgotten middle child...no?)

I have always loved Thanksgiving even as a lil kid....but as an adult the traditions Mr. Mac and I have started as our own little family are so fab.  We will wake up tomorrow and watch the Macy's Parade, make the sweet potato casserole, prepare an appetizer, get ready and head on over to my brother and sister in-laws house.  But the funny thing about Thanksgiving is that, the short list of things we will do even before we leave our house, are all things to be thankful.  I found this on Pinterest the other day and I thought it was perfect.....

Thankful
Because in the big picture of life, it is these small things we forget to be thankful for....instead they are burdens, or put us in bad moods...when in actuality they are all blessings to us!

So instead of listing all the things I am grateful for, this weekend I will just pray that God opens my eyes and heart to all the little things I forget about!

Ultimate Recap!

In hope of returning to my regularly scheduled blogging...here is the ultimate recap of the last month!

Our group of peeps from church had a Halloween party!  We were nerds...get it?  The party was fab and we had a blast!!!
Apparently this is how I think nerds look....Mr. Mac on the other hand wears it well ;)

A motley looking crew if you ask me!

One of my besties got married at the beginning of the month.  Her wedding was at a super gorgeous old hotel downtown.  I always LOVE this pose, and took this even before the photographer came.  I need to change professions.

The day after the wedding was my birthday, so Mr. Mac and I stayed the night at the hotel (seriously my favorite thing in the world is to stay in nice hotels) and got to order room service...SCORE! We stayed at the same hotel the night of our wedding, and they have the best french toast ever!  And that is how I started the year of the big 2-7!!

I also brought 27 in with the best birthday card EVER!  A girl at my work made this card and on the right is how to say happy birthday in all sorts of languages!  SO FUN :)

I successfully completed my first sewing project!  With help from my mom and grandma, but I did all the sewing myself!  WOOT WOOT! PS these are money envelopes via Pinterest :)  I am not that creative people!

**Blog intro**
This is Summer...her husband is Mr. Mac's boyfriend Josh.  They lead our small group, and have been one of the biggest blessings to us this year!  I am sure you will see them more on here, as it seems like we are connected at the hip do a lot of fun things together!
Cue: Twilight: Breaking Dawn #2....funny story about this pic...when trying to instagram it one of the filters changed my hair straight up gray!!!  Now I know what I will look like if that ever happens, and all I can say is thank you Lord for hair dye :)

I will not spoil anything about the movie, but what I will say is that if you can have cocktails while watching this, I highly advise it.  K Stew's acting is.........TERRIBLE!!!  nothing new, but one would think that as time goes on it would get a little better....it.doesn't.  So we sat at the movie theater bar and had drinks while the guys sat at a football game.  Match.Made.In.Heaven!!!

Ok this recap brings us to the present!  Work is finally at a manageable state, and I am just coming to terms that our life is going to always be busy...but maybe it is just blessed not busy???  I don't know....although we have our Christmas decorations up, I cannot help but feel beyond thankful lately!  God has been so good to us this year, and although we did not go to bed until 11 almost every night last week, I can't help but to reflect and cherish every moment of it.  From spending time with friends, to watching our nieces cheer, and nephew sing, chatting with family (young and old)....I cannot praise Him enough for giving me such wonderful people to be so tired over.

Make it a great Monday ya'll!

From the chair

I am blogging from the hair salon chair! There is a first for everything and sadly that is just how busy life is!

I think one of my fantasy professions is to be a hair stylist...I LOVE doing my our hair or other people's hair. I normally just dye my hair one solid color by myself but I got a groupon to have my hair highlighted, cut, and conditioned for a killer deal! So this is my treat for the year, and I turn the big 27 next weekend so I thought I should bring in the true late 20's with some good hair!!

So here is to a great weekend and good hair :)

Randoms on Monday....

Maybe this is why I have not been blogging...my life is boring right now!  I mean when one of my weekend highlights is organizing all the crap underneath my bathroom sink, what does that say about me?  However, I will say that was quite the accomplishment for me.  If you know me, then it will not come as a surprise that I have a slight hoarding issue when it comes to bathroom products.  I never want to throw anything away, because what if I need to use that $35 pomade for my fly-aways (even though I have not touched it in the last year).   This drives Mr. Mac BEYOND crazy...but my justification is that the rest of our house is abnormally clean most of the time, so I have to have one room that looks like someone really lives there!

Speaking or organizing....my mom just sent me this picture of all of my stuff that is sitting at her house...waiting to be organized....that will be a fun project :)  Look out for all things 80's!

On Friday night we went to a local high school football game with some new friends from Church!  It was a blast...Sum and I people watched and laughed the whole time (nothing new there)....

During a glorious trip to Target this weekend these caught my eye.....ummmmm what year is it?!?  I don't care what is "IN" right now, but these should never be worn.  I had a pair of these Doc Martins when I was in middle school!  That was 17 year ago!!!!!!!!!!!  So can we leave these in the past....thanks!

Mr. Mac and I finally had some down time this weekend and we watched a couple of new Fall shows...

Nashville Poster

Verdict: LOVE!!!!  I love Connie Britton....she played Tammy Taylor on Friday Night Lights, and I may or may not have wife crush on her!  And the singing is fab...really the whole show rocks!

Verdict: LOVE!!!  This was not Mr. Mac fav, but I thought it was great!  It is kind of like e.r. meets Grey's meets a firefighter show.  I will def keep watching this :)

There ya have it!  My Monday randoms, in a rambling form.  Make it a great one y'all :)

Busy Bees

So I had NO intentions at all to take a break from blogging :(  The last month has just flown by you guys...I cannot believe my birthday is only a few weeks away and that the holidays are literally just around the corner!

Work has been getting the best of my lately...hence my absence from this little job :)  We got an entirely new operating system and it has almost been the death of me...many times over.  But it is getting better and more manageable so that is good news!  Unfortunately when work gets a little to much for me, this ecard tends to sum up my life....

Irony at it's finest :)

Mr. Mac and I started going to a new small group at church, and it has been such a blessing to us.  We have met some great new friends who are, for the most part, in the same walk of life as we are!  A couple of weeks ago all the girls decided to throw a Pinterest party!!!  IT WAS A BLAST!  If you have the opportunity to have one,go to one, whatev DO IT!  We made a bunting out of burlap, and they all turned out darling!

Some girls did their names, others did "gather" or "harvest".

In the mean time winter/fall has offically arrived here in the CO!  The battle of when to turn the heater on has begun, and we are pulling out all things warm and comfy!

Heater was turned on after this!

I made these yummy pumpkin cupcakes for our group last week, and they were delish! I could eat candy corn/punkins all day!

I did the Race for the Cure last weekend and froze my buns off....which ended up being good as it forced me to jog the 5K instead of walking!  BTW how big is my lil bro getting?!?  He is such a ham.

My bday is in 3 weeks and how freaking cute is this phone cover??? I think I need it :)

I have msised blogging soo much!  But I am back...hopefully :)  Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!!

The weather....

Another weekend in the books!  We didn't do a whole lot this weekend.  We helped my grandma move on Saturday and Sunday we went to church and watched football.  On Friday night I made chicken pot pie (find the recipe from here).  The weather was a little cooler so I took advantage of it and did some home cookin'! Mr. Mac was pretty excited for it too :)

FALL IS COMING!!!  I promise I am not too crazy, but I am just sooo tired of 90+ degree weather       (ie: TODAY) that a cool down sounds amazing!  Don't worry in March or so, I will be over the cold and looking for a warm up....I am hard to please.  Oh Thursday I can't wait for you and your weather to          get here :)

I have a super duper crazy week at work and Mr. Mac and I start our new group at church on Wednesday night!  We are so looking forward to spending some time with some great new people in out lives.  God has been so good to us the last couple of months!  His plan is always perfect and we are so blessed to believe in a Savior who knows us better than we know ourselves.

I hope everyone has a great week, and if I have time to blog I will!

Ready for Fall

I am so ready for fall it is crazy!  It was 90 degrees here yesterday so I doesn't seem to be approaching in any swift manner but still!  I love to cook and try new recipes and fall always seems like the perfect time to do all that stuff!  And since this fall will technically be the first decorating season that I will have Pinterest to inspire me; it makes it that much more exciting!  Read as...I have no life!

The other day my mother-in-law dropped off the first touch of fall to hit our house!
That is creamy pumpkin hand soap....my photo skills are cray!  I am going to need to learn more about that one day, but for now my iPhone is the best camera EVA!

Naturally all I want to do is take my happy booty to the Hobby Lobby and go crazy on some fall decor....what do you say Mr. Mac?????  The good news for me is that Mr. Mac grew up in a house where EVERYTHING changed seasonally so it doesn't seem to out of the norm to spend money on seasonal decor!  When do you put up your fall stuff?  I mean September seems legit to me, but it is hard when it is 90+ outside.

At the grocery yesterday, I decided to purchase this tea....now I can make my own Starbucks...at home!!!  And I don't think Mr. Mac likes it too much to drink all of it, so it's all mine!!! HAHAHA (I am an only child, can you tell???)
Delish!

When I was taking my amazing professional photo of the soap I got to thinking about how I hate my generic stainless steel sink (can't change that...right now) and how the rings that soap bottles leave DRIVE.ME.BONKERS!  Naturally I took to Pinterest to solve my problem!

Pinned Image
Problem solved...I also didn't feel so OC because clearly other ladies have the same issue and that is why this project exists...WHEW!  Not sure when I will get around to doing it, but it is committed to memory so when I see some cheap ugly candlestick holder for like $1.00 I am gonna snatch that puppy up!

Other Fall Pinterest wants....
fall cookies!
I have one of these plates and NEVER think to change the ribbon...DUH!

Cut Dollar Tree pumpkins in half, decorate, & hang
I don't like these hanging on a door...kinda weird, but they would be super cute somewhere else.  And they are made from items bought at the Dollar Store.

Fall decor
I bet I could do all this from the Dollar Store too!  I really need something to go on my manlte...maybe a burlap banner and some tall things on the side...I don't know what to do but that is all the fun in building a home :)

We shall see what happens in my adventures to decorate for Fall!  Wish me luck :)

A visit recapped!

Time is just flying you guys!  It has been weeks since I have blogged and it seriously feels like it has maybe been like 3 days.  Oh well....a lot has been goin on around here!  My BFF and her little fam has come and gone :(  Saddies that she is gone, but we had a lot of fun while she was here.

There are a lot of things us ladies take for granted living the good ol' USA ie: a GOOD mani/pedi.  Naturally that was one the list of things to get done once she got here!  We had made an appointment for Sunday afternoon followed by lunch and shopping.  It is important to know that both my bestie and I suffer from anxiety in large groups of people and in small spaces.  You can imagine our faces when we walked into this salon (the one I normally go to is closed on Sundays) that was the size of a single car garage with every.single.chair.full and 3 people waiting and standing around!  I have NEVER seen anything like it!  Bestie and I have excellent ESPN and looked at each other knowing this was NOT going to work out for us!  Naturally we flipped one of our best u-turns ever and sprinted out the door!  As I am walking around to the car I see one of the employees RUNNING after us!!!!!!  Feeling like I was going to be accosted by a little man wearing one of those white masks; I fumbled and got the car started and sped away!!! It was possibly one of the most frightening things that has ever happened to either one of us! WHO DOES THAT?!?!?  Needless to say the mani/pedis did not happen that day, but we went to my normal place a few days later and had a wonderful time (and avoided being chased by a MAJOR creeper!)

Here is my post from last year when they visited.  The kids have grown so much it is crazy!  We took the kids and my lil brother to the Children's museum and had a blast!  They played so well together and we so well behaved.  Little B was so proud of himself because I didn't have to "wash his mouth out"...he can have a little mouth on him and my dad has started that as his punishment.  He just a gem, and I cannot wait to have my own kiddos and do things like this with them :)

B kept saying "I am on a hot date with this cutie pie!"

He even shared his ranch dressing :)

Not so little anymore....such a doll!!

After all was said and done my B was all tuckered out!  Out like a light!

While I was busy with all that Mr. Mac had been anxiously awaiting football season to come...and now it is here!!!  He is a hap-hap-happy camper people :)  Oh and it is hunting season WOO HOO!!!...NOT!!!!!  He has gone twice and come home empty handed.  Praise God...I don't really need an elk living in my freezer!   Lexi agrees...she is not too amused by hunting either....

So I think this is a good recap of the bestie visit 2012...unitl next year...hopefully :)  I will leave you all with this.....

Yes this is my desk as I found it yesterday morning!!!  POST-ITS EVERYWHERE!!!!  This is after I removed them from my monitor, keyboard, phone, calculator, stapler, etc.  There are even on the front of the drawers!  It took the guy who did this an hour!  I gave him props after I wasn't so cranky...HA!

A night in the kitchen!

The Martha Stewart/Suzy Homemaker bug bit me last night (don't ask me what that is but it works....I think?)  I decided I was going to make a wonderful dinner for us, so I went to the store after work and purchased some goods.  I have been drooling thinking about this recipe I found on Pinterest, and I found a recipe for Panko Balsamic Crusted Chicken in a magazine.  So this was obvi the Suzy Homemaker part of the bug....

Another pinner said: Creamy garlic pasta! I made this tonight and it was the tastiest thing I have ever put in my mouth. Who needs to spend money at Olive Garden? This is just as good if not better.
click here to find the recipe and here to follow me on Pinterest (I pin some legit stuff you will be happy you followed  me)  BTW: the theme of this post is my ADD ...

Warning: I am not the Pioneer Woman so my food photos suck, but I get an A for effort k?
Totally impressed with my ability to balance the spaghetti on the garlic jar...mad skills!

The second part of dinner was the chicken, and it turned out amazing!!  The recipe ended up being toO fancy-shamcy for me so I took the basics and made it my own....
So I just mixed mustard (I thought we had Dijon but we didn't so whatev, next time I will use the Dijon) and balsamic vinegar with some salt, pepper, garlic powder (cuz no recipe is complete without it) and then coated it in the Panko.  Because the Panko cooks faster than the chicken I sliced the chicken breasts in half so they were thinner. And baked them at 375 for about 20 minutes.

NOW all the while being Suzy I was also being Martha....don't judge me for the next photo cuz it's bad.
Honey I think we need some more kitchen utensils.....NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is what happens when you get married and do not use your wedding gifts until almost 2 years later.  You end up with all this crap!

This drawer is the "frequent flier" drawer so we use this stuff often, and it is smaller so it doesn't totally look like disheveled mess....this is what I am telling myself and I am sticking to it...this drawer is normal :)

OK back to the chaos....I bought some organization thing at Home Goods last weekend, and I decided that while I was trying NOT one BUT two new recipes I needed to organize that hideous drawer!  Luckily     Mr. Mac came home and to the rescue and finished they drawer....it look a billion times better!!
Now almost everything has it's own special home, including my wine corks :)  Mr. Mac even said he would sleep a little better knowing the drawer is organized.  Yes we are both type A...don't ask what will happen when we have kids....you will want to read this blog just to find out one day!

Here is a little side-note....so since my dog is an only child she has to be right.in.the.middle.of.EVERYTHING!!!  Case in point while all this is going on I am also trying to empty the dishwasher, and where does she lay???
BOOM on the rug...and note homegirl is COMFY!!!  Also how awesome are my flip-flop tan lines...jealous huh?!?  I was literally stepping over and on her tail sometimes and she was not going to move!

Also just to show you how OC I really am.....
Yes everything has to alternate colors, and you see the middle shelf and how the bottom bowl in the back is white and so is the one on the right....that is a problem...the two bowls in the front should be brown.  You catch me?  I digress....

Here is the end result of the evening....
A bomb dinner!!

I apologize for the tumultuous rambling that just happened and I am sure y'all would love to take the time back in your lives, but you can't....you know what you CAN do is make those noodles up there!!  They will change your life...I PROMISE!!!!

OK HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, August 10, 2012

About that.....

First off HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!  It has been a rough couple of weeks at work, and everyone is beyond happy that the weekend is here!!!  WOOT WOOT!!!

Also my BFF and her family comes today :)  I am like a child on Christmas morning!  Can't wait to see them!

So far I have had a busy morning....

It was totally necessary to paint my nails....and I work in a man's world so it really makes my day when I tell them I can't do something because my nails are wet :)  They look at me like I am from another planet...HA!
Turned out alright!

Last night while Mr.Mac was watching the football game I was catching up on my pile of magazines, and came across this nail polish color.  I will be on the hunt at Target purchasing soon :)

BTW...whose responsible for naming nail polishes, and how do I get that job????

I don't know about every other lady out there, but I HATE the whole process of toilet paper and changing it out......let me explain:  We have to use it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!!!  Mr. Mac, not so much.  I hate it when it runs out on my time!  It almost puts me in a bad mood.  I will purposefully try to make it happen on Mr. Macs time in the bathroom, and guess what?  IT FREAKING BACKFIRES ON ME....every.single.time!  I leave 2-3 sheets on the roll thinking "ha now he will have to change the roll" and guess who is the next one to need it...ME!!!! I think Mr. Mac does this to me too....ie: leaking the roll with NOTHING on it and not changing it.  I  wish there was an automatic thing in the wall that just drops another roll down when needed.  And what really frosts my cookie is when the toilet paper runs out and there is not another roll in the cabinet.....Like what am I supposed to do...drip dry IN MY OWN HOUSE??????  Sorry if this is TMI, but it happened to me last night and I just was wondering if I am in my own boat here or not. I feel much better and now I digress :)

So I found this picture on Pinterest the other day, and it has now become my mission to wallpaper (I know it's weird) one of the walls in the dining room and re-create this look...and paint the  near by powder room a complimenting color.  I think this is a stencil but I would lose my salvation if I tried that, so wallpaper seems much smarter....then I will be on a mission to find a star burst mirror to go on the wall which means I will find one 10 years from now when I am not even looking for one, because that is just my luck people.

Same color of paint just used in a matte and semi-gloss finish.

That's all she wrote today...hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!!
