Times a Changin'

Life has been ka-razy lately!  My best friend from Switzerland was here for the last two weeks with her two kiddos.  As you might imagine I spent any and every waking moment with them!  How things have changed...we met in Biology 101 our freshman year of college.  We did college and we did it big!  Our friendship has endoured some high highs and some low lows, but I will tell you what she is the sister I never had and will be my bestie for ever!  I mean our friendship works even when we live half a world away :)

BFF's circa college days...

We took her little girl to get her hair cut at the cutest place!  All she kept saying is "I a princess"

Pround mommy of two!  Who would have ever thought ;)

Love the glasses girl! She insisted on getting the green ones, and proceeded to wear them ALL night!

One of the main reasons Liz and the kids came to visit is one of her good friends got married.  Little miss thing was the flower girl and Liz was a bridesmaid.  So guess who got to watch this little guy for an entire day?? ME!!!  Seriously he is the sweetest baby boy ever, and sooo easy not like his older sister.  My mom came over and helped me in the morning and we ran some errands with him.  It was like we didn't have a baby with us, he was soo good!  Even took a nap in one of the loudest restaurants!  I so enjoyed the time with my mom!  She is going to be the best grammy, and I am so excited for that chapter of our lives (when we get to it)!

Lexi even enjoyed the company! (no babies were harmed in this photo)

Now that she is gone life is kind of back to normal.  I miss them soo much but I realized how blessed I am to have a friend like Liz.  That is priceless and I am even more blessed to call these kiddos my godchildren :)  I pray that even though we live 1,000s of miles apart I am an influence in their lives and I am able to guide them and help them whenever they may need me.  Love you guys!

Weekend Recap

Hello y'all!!  I have been super busy doing a whole lotta nuthin!  But here is a little weekend recap!

Friday night we went to my fav-o-rite Mexican food place for my Aunt's Birthday!  Where I ate way too many homemade tortillas and topped off a yummy marg!

Oh and ate yummy cake

And got really really excited over singing Happy Birthday...complete with the sombrero :)
Srsly I could smother that little boy like a bean burrito!

Then Saturday I got up at the crack o' dawn (not really but still).  Mr. Mac left for work and I started being all wifey and stuff (aka doing laundry).  I would post a pic here but I am sure you are all too familiar with that ginormo pile of laundry that haunts you...so I will spare you the details!

My sweet little nephew had his 2nd soccer game!

Soccer Aunt!!

He's that cute blonde in the middle...he ever scored a GGOOOAAALLL!!!!!!!

So serious!

Saturday night we went to my mama's house.  She had some people over for my step-sister's husband's boxing match that was on TV.  We had so much fun that I forgot to take pictures.  But trust me it was fun!

Sunday was full of church and getting ready for the week.  I set my Tivo for all the new fall shows.  Best time of the year bar none!  Tonight is Castle...luv this show!

Hope y'all have a super Monday...Ciao

I have a new obsession

POLYVORE!!!!!!!

If you do not know what this website is GO CHECK IT OUT!  If you have ever seen the movie Clueless it will make your wildest dreams come true.  In Clueless she has a computer with all of her outfit choices and it dresses her!  When this movie came out 1. I was in love with it and 2.  I wanted her closet/computerized dressing thing so bad!

Ok...polyvore is kind of the same thing but on a much larger scale.  I am talking thousands of clothing options.  From shoes to jewelry and everything in between.  You can create a billion and one different outfits for any and every occasion.  Take for example this outfit...I am from the land of Blue Crush :)
Goo Broncos!!

Or this Super cute Fall casual outfit...I mean if I had all these things in my closet I would be on happy lady!  (the bag in this pic is only like $1400.00...no big deal)
Fall <3
Can you tell I am ready for Fall and Winter?!?   Love Sweaters!!!
Work Time!

There ya have it...my new obsession!  I almost feel as cool as Cher from Clueless!

AS IF!!!

My 16 Year Old Self

I got this post from Whitney's blog...so fun!

If I could talk to my 16 year old self today...I would tell her...

* Do make sure you watch every episode of 'Friends'...it really is one of the best shows EVER!

* Believe it or not, you do not know everything, and you never will.  However, you will become much wiser as time goes by!

* Believe your parents when they say they are doing something for you that is in your best interest.  They really are and you will thank them when you are older!

* Your love for Nordstroms is only beginning (enjoy it while you can 'aford' it)

* Don't freak out too much that your iPod was the original one...the next one you get is AWESOME!

* Your parents were right you really are too young to watch Sex and the City

* Cell phones are not what make the world go round!  So not having one is okay!

* 'Seventeen' and 'Teen Bop' are only the beginning of your love for trashy gossip :)

*  Reality TV gets so much better than The Real World!

* You will meet your BFF in college and together you will rule the world :)
* Wearing uniforms for your entire school life is something you will appreciate later in life.

* Enjoy your body now...YOU ARE NOT CHUBBY

* UGGS will always be cool

* Keep your preppy style is never goes bad

* You won't always be an only child :)

* All those boys were not worth it, but without them you won't get to where you are going later on

* You are lucky to have a car right at 16...don't abuse it!

* You will lose some friends, but the real ones will always be there!

* Your future husband is nothing like anyone you date...he will rock your socks off!

* Football will always be a part of your life

* And last, but most important!  Do not rush to grow up...enjoy every day, and experience.  Getting old is fun but so much more work!

Livin on a Prayer

And no I don't mean the classic Bon Jovi song...sorry :)

Prayer can be such an awesome thing.  But I didn't always think that.  I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools.  And although as a Catholic you learn all of the normal prayers..."Our Father", "Hail Mary", "Act of Contrition", "Apostle's Creed" etc.  But it wasn't until I started dating Mr.Mac that I realized prayer can be so much more than reciting (if you will) a given prayer.

I learned how to pray all over again.  You see Mr.Mac writes his prayers.  Every night before he goes to bed he gets out a spiral notebook and writes his prayers to God in the form of a letter...kinda.  When we started dating and I started going to church with him I was (and still am) a baby Christian.  This was a whole new look on religion for me.  I was going to build a personal relationship with God, and I was pumped!  But I had NO IDEA where to begin.  That's when Mr. Mac told me about his prayer journal.  Just so you have an idea of how long he has been doing this...we have a closet 2 shelves FULL of old journals! Front and back of pages!

So I started my journal, and at first I again had NO IDEA WHAT TO PRAY FOR!!!!  I would sit and stare at the blank page.  Now I had numerous diaries growing up, but they were full of boy talk and silly things.  This seemed so much more important to me...this was a relationship on the line and an important one at that.  I started simple.  Giving thanks to God for all He has done for me and given me.  I prayed for my relationship with Him that it would grow and that I would grow as a Christian woman.  Over time I got more comfortable in my prayers and I found myself just talking to God throughout the day.  About anything and everything!  For Him to get me through the last hours of work,  I would pray for other people if I heard something that needed prayer. Just all sorts of stuff.  As Mr.Mac and my relationship grew more serious I learned to pray for him, as my partner, and spiritual leader, that he would have a good day, and that he would continue to grow in his profession.

I started feeling like I was building this relationship I was longing for.  I was feeling like my cup was getting full!  Then in the beginning of this year I had a health scare, and that took us (me and Mr.Mac) for the ride of our lives.  And it changed my power of prayer tenfold.  I dove into God's word and search for a feeling of ease, and contentment.  It was during these intense couple of weeks that I began to not only feel God but I felt like he was talking to me, reassuring me that He is in control and His plans are perfect.  Ya it was an awful time for us but I have never felt so at peace with my life and my husband before.  It.was.amazing!

After that experience my prayer life has changed for the better.  Mr. Mac and I are currently in the process of buying a house.  The house is a short sale and it has been taking forever.  The thing about short sales is that you are at the mercy of the banks and have absolutely no idea when you will hear back from the bank either accepting your offer or whatnot.  This house is perfect!  It is my dream house and it is all I can think of.  But right now it is all up to God and His timing.  Mr. Mac and I pray together every night about the house and that situation.  Only He knows the outcome and we have to trust in Him for His plan.  We are living on a prayer right now.  And it feels safe!

Last night I thought to myself, I really want to grow in my praying so I am going to read "The Power of A Praying Wife"  I know that Mr. Mac is our spiritual leader but there is something to said about a strong Christian woman praying for her husband :)

Not to brag but...

Happy Labor Day weekend!! I have always enjoyed Labor Day...all the BBQs and the last of the public pools and the end of summer (unless you live in CO and are having 99 degree days...in September??)  We are headed up to the cabin again with the whole fam!  I am looking forward to the long weekend and just bummin around!  I plan on baking a lot this weekend...for some reason I have had the urge to bake up a storm!  This week I made banana bread and I am going make cupcakes this weekend with my nieces and nephew and then some yummy Monkey Bread!!  I will try to take pictures of all my goodies!

But before all that goodness let me just tell you how in LOVE I am with this little guy...

This is B....he is my...

LITTLE BROTHER!!!

Could you not just eat him up?!?  Yes I have a 2 1/2 year old little brother, and yes I am 23 years older than he is.  How cool is that?  It has been one of the best things to happen in my family.  This little guy has brought so my life and pure happiness to our family and I could not imagine a day without him!

As an adult it is very fun to watch your dad really be a dad...in the young years.  When he is your hero and fun and makes you laugh until your belly hurts.  I remember thinking my dad was the coolest when I was little and now that I get to witness him parenting as an adult I realize my thoughts were truths...my.dad.rocks!

B is a boys boy...wholy moley!!!  This kid has NO FEARS and lives to be outside...all the time!  He can say some words in Italian and it seriously cracks me up!  He loves mops and helping you clean.  He moves rugs that weight 3 times as much as him out of the way to 'vaccum'.  His vocabulary grows every day.  He enjoys taking his Arctic Cat for a drive (please note his gangster arm up on one side...he's cool like that).

B absolutely adores Mr. Mac!  It makes my uterus skip a beat every time I see them hang out together.  B will call me and ask for JT he will see me and ask 'Where JT?'  He is mildly obsessed with him and it brings me more joy than I could ever express!  He is just cute as can be and I CANNOT wait to have my own kids...I am sure I will smother them to death!

Being Girly...oh ya and I vlogged

Thursday Thursday Thursday...I really like Thursdays!  I mean tomorrow is Friday and Thursday night always has the best TV!  Right now Mr.Mac has school on Thursday nights so I am all by my loansome.

I normally try to get my laundry done on Thursday nights so I don't have to do it over the weekend.  And really laundry is such a double edged sword.  Like there are times when I want to chuck my iron across the room and have a two-year old style temper tantrum, and then there are time when I feel so wifey and stuff.  So anywho I am ironing but more importantly I paint my nails on Thursdays.

Today I did Sally Hansen 'Complete Salon Manicure' and the color is 'Commander in Chic'  with the ever faithful OPI top coat (this is the best! bar none!)

I am right handed and so when I paint my nails my left hand looks like a champ and my right hand always looks like a HOT MESS!! I ticks me off pretty much every time...and no matter how many times I have painted my nails it is always the same story.  But here is a picture of my left hand. Finished product.  I am not a nail tech and I do not get paid to be one either so please don't judge my paint job...thanks!

And here is my fist attempt at vlogging...I am by no means proud of it!  And I will not be sending it in for any auditions in the future :)  But I am very proud of the fact that I was able to figure out how to get my computer to record me and then load up and now get it on here!  I think vlogging is way fun and will try to do it again.  I got this idea from Whitney's blog...people tell me I sound like I have an accent but I am not aware of it.  Oh and I have a cold...and I am sitting on my couch, and I kinda look like a man, oh and this is my first ever attempt at recording myself so the starting point I look like I took too much NyQuil...other than that it is great.  So without further ado...

Here are the vlog instuctions--
